Conditions for granting a non-money prize machine licence

Prizes obtained from game machines or game equipment must not exceed 35 euros. If the machine or equipment is slot-operated, it must be equipped with a payment-monitoring device inspected and approved by an inspection body.

A licence can be granted if

  • the lottery is run to get funds to promote a charitable or non-profit purpose
  • running the lottery is not obviously inappropriate in respect of the public interest
  • the licence authority has no good cause to suspect that the organizer of the game is violating the provisions and orders issued on the organization of lotteries.
If the applicant has not paid the lottery tax within the prescribed period or has not rendered the accounts, a new licence will not be granted until the tax arrears are paid and the accounts deposited with the authorities.
