When applying for a temporary driving licence, the following must be included: a valid foreign driving licence (if the language on the driving licence is other than Finnish, Swedish or English, an official translation into one of these three languages must be included) a passport A temporary driving licence is issued for up to a year. The foreign driving licence must be valid for the entire validity period of the temporary driving licence. The foreign driving licence is retained by the temporary driving licence holder.
