Small lotteries

According to the Lotteries Act, an organization or foundation with a charitable or non-profit purpose can run without a licence a non-money lottery in which the total sales price of the lottery tickets does not exceed 2,000 euros and in which the sale of tickets and distribution of prizes occur at the same event (small lotteries).

A school class or equivalent study group may run a small lottery for the purposes of promoting study or leisure-time activities that support study, provided that an adult is responsible for the work associated with running the lottery.

In small and mini lotteries the combined total of prizes must be at least 35% of the total sales price of the lottery tickets and the smallest prize must be worth at least as much as a single ticket.
