The Helsinki Police Department will be overseeing the Flow Festival on 14–16 August, as they do at other major public events. The police will maintain a visible presence in Suvilahti and the surrounding areas throughout the weekend.
Police enforcement will focus on public order and security. Police officers will intervene in disruptive behaviour on sight.
In previous years, minors have gathered in the area surrounding the event site. The police will have a zero-tolerance policy for possession of alcoholic beverages by minors near the site. Police officers will confiscate and destroy the alcoholic beverages and issue a fine for possession.
“A visible police presence prevents disturbances and provides a fast response time to reported offences. The use and possession of narcotics is a crime. The police intervene in every instance that is noticed,” says Inspector Tuukka Skottman.
The police will publish the outcomes of their enforcement activities in the week after the Festival.
