Welcome to Police Day in Vantaa, Saturday 29 August 2026
It is a great pleasure for the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and Eastern Uusimaa Police Department to host a joint Police Day event outside the National Bureau of Investigation in Jokiniemi, Vantaa, at Tikkurilantie 30 on Saturday 29 August from 10:00 to 15:00.
Police Day is a family event for all ages, offering a full programme of things to see and experience across the broad spectrum of police work. As in previous years, there will be displays of police equipment and vehicles to interest younger and older family members alike.
To mark the NBI's 100th anniversary this year, the agency's doors will once again open to the public. The event offers a rare opportunity to learn about the NBI's work and to visit the Crime Museum, which is normally closed to visitors. The NBI previously opened its doors to the public during Police Days in 2015 and 2018, and on both occasions the chance to visit the building proved hugely popular — so it's worth bracing yourself for a queue and packing plenty of patience.
Tickets for the Crime Museum will be available at the information tent in front of the NBI headquarters from 9:30 onwards. Please read the guidance below carefully and follow the instructions given on site. To ensure visits run smoothly, the number of visitors allowed inside the building at any one time will be limited.
In addition to visiting the Crime Museum, Police Day visitors can:
- get a close look at a police car and a motorcycle
- give the Police Lion a hug or take a selfie with it
- spin the wheel of fortune and win police-themed prizes
- see curated items of the NBI Crime Museum, including art forgeries and historical artefacts related to crimes
- hear from experts on how to keep children safe online and avoid online scams
- discuss the public safety and ask questions about such topics as youth crime and drugs
- chat with police officers and as questions about police work and policing
- buy a snack
- learn about the work of the Vantaa Mediation Office and the Youth Services
- enjoy an interesting Saturday with family
