Information about any investigative measures taken by the authorities of China and Hong Kong is, however, provided by the competent authorities themselves.

31.8.2023 | The Vastaamo hacking case, involving suspected aggravated computer break-in, aggravated attempted extortion and aggravated dissemination of information violating personal privacy, has been under investigation by the police since autumn 2020. The criminal investigation is now completed and referred to the prosecutor for consideration of charges.

30.7.2024 | Since the end of 2022 and beginning of 2023, the Itä-Uusimaa Police Department has been investigating an international organised crime group led from Poland. The group is suspected of having imported to Finland considerable volumes of narcotics and their precursors.

3.2.2025 | Valio has filed a police report with the Helsinki Police Department regarding the data breach that occurred on December 12, 2024, which compromised the personal data of 70,000 people.

17.10.2023 | The police stated yesterday that the details of the vessels which sailed in the area during the gas pipeline incident have been established. Investigation has been targeted on several vessels relating to the place and time of the incident.

24.2.2023 | The National Bureau of Investigation has started a criminal investigation into a suspected money collection offence committed by a man living in Lahti. The suspect was apprehended in Lahti yesterday on 23 February.

7.6.2023 | The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), together with the Dutch and German authorities, conducted searches and made arrests on suspicion of withholding tax evasion.

29.4.2025 | Serious violent crimes have been detected by a joint operation carried out between the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and the Swedish Police. In the case under investigation, Swedish citizens are suspected of having organised the commission of violent acts in Sweden and Denmark. One suspect is suspected of about ten violent acts.

13.3.2025 | The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has started a criminal investigation into the activities of the City of Helsinki in relation to the data breach discovered in spring 2024. The investigation was opened on the basis of the NBI's preliminary inquiry into the matter.

6.2.2025 | The Southeast Finland Police are investigating the disappearance of an underaged child in Lappeenranta. The child crossed the border to Russia illegally on Friday the 31st of January.

5.11.2025 | Eastern Uusimaa police and Finnish Customs uncovered a large-scale organisation importing and distributing drugs, including Alpha-PVP

2.5.2023 | The National Bureau of Investigation and the National Criminal Police of Estonia have investigated together aggravated trafficking in human beings involving companies with links to the construction industry. It is suspected that an organisation consisting of different companies and individuals has deceived several dozen workers into coming to work in Finland in circumstances such as forced labour and has gained criminal proceeds of over 2.3 million euros from this activity.

17.5.2025 | On Saturday, 17 May, at 00:38, the police received an emergency call reporting that somebody had robbed a service station and threatened with a knife at Laivalahdenkatu 1.

4.6.2025 | A long-planned large-scale operation targeting the top leaders and middle management of an Albanian-led criminal network was carried out in Albania on the third of June 2025. Thus far, a total of 55 persons have been convicted in different court instances and almost 300 kilos of drugs seized in the case concerned in Finland.

8.8.2025 | Helsinki Police Department has received a lot of feedback about public order disturbances and the perceived lack of safety resulting from substance abuse. These disturbances are mainly related to drug use and related crime.
