6.7.2023 | Investigation of the criminal offences related to the Vastaamo case has required an exceptional amount of work from the police, and this is clearly visible in the statistics for the police’s criminal investigations for this year. By the end of June, approximately 25,000 crimes related to the case have been solved.

The operation will be carried out when the elk hunting season is already underway and hunting clubs are at their most active. The operation will be carried out in cooperation with other wilderness supervisory authorities responsible for hunting and fishing matters, i.e. the Finnish Border Guard, Customs and Metsähallitus.
