10.3.2021 | The Eastern Uusimaa Police Department closed its four service points in October 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Based on a decision made now, the shutdown of the policing and permit services at the Nurmijärvi and Loviisa stations as well as the permit services at the Mäntsälä and Kerava police service points continue until 29 August 2021.

3.6.2021 | The Helsinki Police Department will conduct special operations to intensely monitor the consumption of intoxicants by young people during the end-of-school weekend. The special operations will particularly focus on places where young people like to see each other, such as the parks, beaches and outdoor areas of daycare centres and schools.

23.6.2021 |   The Government has taken actions to increase cycling. The COVID-19 pandemic has also boosted the popularity of bicycles. With the start of the holiday season, it is therefore highly likely that there will be increasing numbers of cyclists on the parts of the roads without special tracks dedicated to cycling. To make holiday travelling smooth, nice and safe, the Police would like to draw the car drivers’ attention to the safe way to overtake cyclists and take them into consideration.

16.9.2021 | The demand of passports and identity cards is really big at the moment. The licence services in Western Uusimaa Police Department is very busy. However, slots are released into the service on a weekly basis, and cancellation times are also released every day.

During the school’s out weekend 4 to 6 June 2021, the Police will engage in intensified surveillance of the consumption of intoxicants by the young. In doing so, the Police will also intervene with disturbances in the public domain.
