The number of environmental offenses, natural resource offenses and health and safety offenses provided for in the Criminal Code has reached a record high. The suspect, who is a man in his twenties, has been remanded since December 2022. The complex investigation has links to a wider criminal phenomenon in which Finnish people have lost millions of euros in recent years.

A Finnish man has been remanded in absentia on suspicion of the offence. A European arrest warrant has been issued against the suspect.

27.2.2023 | The National Bureau of Investigation will request that the Finnish man suspected of the computer break-in committed against Psychotherapy Centre Vastaamo be placed on remand by the Western Uusimaa District Court in Espoo on Tuesday 28 February. The suspect was surrendered to Finland on Friday 24 February from France, where he was arrested at the beginning of the month.

3.2.2023 | A 25-year-old man suspected of the aggravated computer break-in has been arrested in France under a European arrest warrant. The police issued the arrest warrant for the suspect in October 2022.
