From February 2023, the Police University College offers a series of international webinars, where researchers and other experts present recent research in the field of policing.

The Northern Police Research Webinar events bring together researchers, practitioners and other interested parties in policing on a virtual platform.

“The idea for a webinar series originated at the Police University College, and our international colleagues joined in immediately to develop ideas for the webinars and their topics. The organizer network includes representatives of police and police education organizations from Finland, Sweden, Norway, Iceland, Scotland and Northern Ireland,” says Vesa Muttilainen, Chief of Research at the Police University College.

“During the spring, webinar topics include police corruption, domestic violence and intelligence-led policing. Speakers from various countries will take turns in giving presentations at the webinar and the event will be in English.”

The Police University College and the Scottish Institute for Policing Research (SIPR) are responsible for the practical arrangements of the webinar series.
