Oulu Police Department

We operate in 38 municipalities in the counties of Kainuu and Northern Ostrobothnia (Pohjois-Pohjanmaa). Our area of operation includes about 61 600 square kilometres, with about 479 000 residents. The Police Department is composed of 15 police stations. The central police station, and the centre of administration and command, is in Oulu. Other police stations are located in Haapavesi, Haapajärvi, Haukipudas, Kajaani, Kalajoki, Kuhmo, Kuusamo, Muhos, Pudasjärvi, Raahe, Sotkamo, Suomussalmi, Taivalkoski and Ylivieska. The information under each police station contains the services supplied and opening hours, as well as the instructions to order records, protocols and copies.

    Book an appointment beforehand, if possible.

    For information about pending cases, contact the police department that is processing your case. You can request records and copies by contacting the police department or station.

    Police helpline

    The police helpline gives advice on non-urgent matters regarding licences, appointment bookings, e-services and traffic surveillance.

    Price of service

    The cost for a call to the Police is

    • the local network charge (pvm) if you call using a landline number
    • cellular phone charge (mpm) if you use a mobile phone
    • international call charge if you call from abroad.

    You will pay for the call in line with your operator tariff. Waiting time is also paid for.
