JIf you are planning to travel abroad during the autumn holiday season, check the validity of your travel document now. Also make sure well in advance that the travel document you intend to use is accepted in your destination country. An identity card can only be used for travel to EU and EEA countries and Switzerland, whereas a passport is required for travel to other countries.

The police use force only when absolutely necessary in performing an official duty. In the current year so far, there have been slightly more than 10,000 such incidents. The examples in this media release illustrate the kinds of situations that the police may have to deal with on a call.
