Wilderness liaison officers of the police

Wilderness liaison officers of the police are police experts specialised in hunting and fishing, appointed by police departments. Through their educational background and work experience, they are familiar with the legislation in force, supervision of hunting and fishing, and cooperation between the authorities.

A police officer is riding a snowmobile on snowy terrain, possibly on the ice of a lake.

The wilderness liaison officers may be contacted for advice and guidance on any police matter relating to hunting or fishing. The best way to contact them is by email.

Acute and urgent incidents must always be reported to the emergency number 112. Examples of such incidents include an ongoing suspected hunting offence or a large carnivore moving in a densely populated area.
