On Thursday 26 August 2021, the Police will carry out 24-hour automatic control, particularly making effective use of camera surveillance vehicles.

According to Superintendent Heikki Kallio at the National Police Board, control will particularly focus on commuter traffic and traffic near schools and child daycare centres.

“Commuter traffic speeds increase since people are used to rushing to get to work and not much surveillance is necessarily seen at the time. The themed control now taking place is an attempt to influence this traffic in particular,” says Kallio.

Another important theme is to maintain adherence to speed limits where there are schoolchildren.

Police patrols will also control speeds during the day.
