Three new partnership agreements were concluded by the Police College in early summer.

The partners in the Unipol agreement between educational institutions in Tampere are the University of Tampere, Tampere University of Technology and Tampere University of Applied Sciences. The other new partners are Saimaa University of Applied Sciences and the Multidimensional Tourism Institute.

The agreements now concluded are extensive framework agreements, and the concrete contents of the cooperation will be subject to negotiation on an annual basis. For example, the possibilities of finding funding for a joint study on the image of crime in winter sports centres are being investigated with the Multidimensional Tourism Institute.

Third-sector involvement in the Safety and Security Cluster

Pirkanmaa Safety and Security Cluster, a cooperation network that has been active in Tampere region for nearly two years, has gained a steady foothold among safety and security sector actors. Six networks of expertise with over a hundred safety and security sector experts have been launched within the framework of the cluster.

Currently, an effort is being made to determine who are key third-sector actors in safety and security work and how their participatory involvement in network activities can be ensured. The study conducted by the Police College is funded by the Council of Tampere Region and the Ministry of the Interior.
