The Police Museum attracted over 20,200 visitors in 2013, which is the highest number in the Museum's history. There were some 16,800 visitors to the Museum in 2012 and approximately 15,300 in 2011.

- One important factor influencing the record-breaking number of visitors is the exhibition Police in fiction that opened in the spring. The special exhibition shows how Finnish fiction, films and TV productions have shaped the citizens' ideas about the police and police work, explains Superintendent Aimo Aitasalo from the Police Museum.

The number of visitors also reflects the increased offer of events. In 2013, the Police Museum took part in the Night of the Museums and the Night of Events in Tampere for the first time.

Museum discovered by families

The Police Museum has something to offer for every member of the family. In 2013, the Museum was discovered by a great number of families with young children.

- We have plenty to see for visitors of different ages, and the children's section at the museum, or Police Station Pokela, offers many things for kids to do. The fact that entry to the museum is free also goes down well with the visitors, says Aimo Aitasalo.
