The National Police Board has drawn up a letter with instructions concerning the decision by the Eastern Uusimaa District Court on 24 January 2020 on issuing a temporary operating ban on United Brotherhood (UB) and its sub-organisation Bad Union (BU).
The purpose of the letter is to give instructions to police units on monitoring the operating ban.
The decision of the District Court mentioned above is the first of its kind concerning an organised criminal group in Finland.
The police monitors that the decision is followed in connection with its daily activities, and the letter with instructions provides guidelines for police operations intervening in the activities of UB and BU during the temporary operating ban.
Publishing the guidelines is also aimed at preventing the continuation of banned activities.
