On 11 October between 9:00 and 15:00, a multi-authority training exercise will be carried out on the premises of Kuopio University Hospital (KUH). The exercise has been planned in close cooperation with public authorities over the course of several months.
The authorities will be practising in hospital conditions the handling of an unexpected incident. The objective is to practice leadership and organisation within the situation, cooperation between the participating authorities, and communication and mutual information flows under abnormal conditions.
The exercise will involve Kuopio University Hospital, the police, and the North Savo Rescue Department.
During the day, there will be visible within the vicinity of the hospital police patrols and ambulances that are participating in the exercise. The training exercise will also involve a number of individuals acting as patients.
Only those participating in the exercise may access the area being used. There will be no impact on the normal daily operations of the hospital.
