International Working Meetings Organised in Copenhagen to Address Sea Cable Ruptures
The National Bureau of Investigation took part in international working meetings in Copenhagen addressing the sea cable damages occurred in the Baltic Sea in November. In addition to the Finnish delegation, delegations from Denmark, Sweden, Germany and China were also participating in the meetings.
The meetings were held in Copenhagen as part of the investigation into the ruptured sea cables in the Baltic Sea in November. The Finnish delegation included representatives from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs. The NBI was also on board of the vessel to follow inspections.
– The meetings are considered important for ensuring potential cooperation, facilitating information exchange and advancing the criminal investigation into the cases, says Tactical Leader, Detective Superintendent Risto Lohi of the National Bureau of Investigation.
The criminal investigation is underway. Several authorities are working together, for example within the framework of the Joint Investigation Team that has been established.
There are no further details of the criminal investigation to be released at this stage.
