Joint exercise between the Police of Finland, the Finnish Defence Forces and the Finnish Border Guard – including helicopters
A joint exercise between the Police of Finland, the Finnish Defence Forces and the Finnish Border Guard will be held in the Uusimaa region between 8 and 10 November. The exercise will take place in Santahamina in Helsinki, at Räyskälä Airport in Loppi, and in Vihti and Karkkila. Three helicopters from the Utti Jaeger Regiment will participate in the exercise.
The Helsinki Police Department will lead the exercise, and the national Special Intervention Unit Karhu, the Eastern Uusimaa Police Department, the Utti Jaeger Regiment and the Gulf of Finland Coast Guard will participate in it.
“We will practise cooperation in a situation led by the police. As the Police of Finland is in charge of leading hybrid situations, it is important to us to develop our preparation and cooperation with the Finnish Defence Forces and the Finnish Border Guard,” says Chief Inspector Juha Hietala.
Personnel and vehicles of the Police of Finland, the Finnish Defence Forces and the Finnish Border Guard will be present in the exercise areas. This is an exercise in accordance with the annual plan.
