The preliminary investigationinto the Malminkartano murder in February has been completed and the case has been referred for prosecution.
According to the police, an argument broke out between a married couple, both aged around 70, on the evening of 6 February 2026. The dispute concerned, among other things, financial matters.
Later that night, the man woke up and struck his sleeping wife repeatedly on the head with a ball-peen hammer. The woman died from her head injuries.
The man is suspected of the murder of his wife.
