National Bureau of Investigation Continues Investigation into Eura Helicopter Collision

The collision between two helicopters in Eura is being investigated as causing a serious traffic hazard and as negligent homicide. The deceased have been identified through forensic medical examinations. The National Bureau of Investigation continues the criminal investigation in cooperation with the Estonian authorities.

The National Bureau of Investigation continues its inquiry into the air accident that occurred in Eura on 17 May. The incident is being investigated as causing a serious traffic hazard and as negligent homicide.  Five individuals lost their lives in the collision between two helicopters.

– All individuals have been identified through forensic medical examination. Matters concerning the deceased and their next of kin are being handled in close cooperation with the Estonian authorities, says Head of Investigation, Detective Superintendent Olli Töyräs of the National Bureau of Investigation.

The National Bureau of Investigation is conducting investigation into the air accident to determine the circumstances  preceding the incident. The Safety Investigation Authority is responsible for a separate safety investigation into the incident. Further information will be provided as the investigation progresses.
