The police are addressing efficient licensing services by increasing the number of appointments for passport and identity card customers. Save time and money by booking an appointment easily online.

Police licensing services nationwide have a goal to encourage more customers to make an appointment when interacting with the police.

“To achieve this goal, police licensing services will increase the number of appointments for customers. We recommend that all customers book an appointment rather than just turning up at a police station,” says Hanna Piipponen, Chief of Licence Administration at the National Police Board.

You can find more slots on the website

More appointment times will be available to passport and ID card applicants. Appointment times can also be found beyond the opening hours of the police station. The police will add more slots to the booking system on a daily and weekly basis, depending on the police station.

If you can’t find a suitable time straight away, check out the situation later.

“When applicants initiate their passport or ID card application online, the system automatically directs them to appointment booking if they need to visit a police station in person,” says Hanna Piipponen.

Initiating an application online in advance makes for quick, effortless contact rather than having to perhaps wait in a queue for hours without an appointment. If you need to visit a police station for identification purposes, you can complete your visit in less than ten minutes with an appointment.

Deal with permit and licensing matters on line – easily and at a lower cost

Increasingly more permit and licensing matters can be initiated or even completed online. It’s not even always necessary to visit a police station at all for some permit and licensing matters, and nor does use of the service depend on office hours. This means it pays to initiate an application electronically whenever possible from the customer's perspective.

Identity cards and passports are cheaper when initiated online.

Book an appointment online and avoid queuing. You can plan in advance when you interact and how you will spend your time.
