Pride parade affects traffic in Helsinki city central on Saturday

The Pride parade is taking place in Helsinki on Saturday, 27 June. Parade will affect traffic arrangements in the city centre area.

The Helsinki Pride parade will significantly impact traffic in central Helsinki on Saturday. 
Traffic will be cut off for the duration of the parade. The parade will gather at Senate Square at 10:00 and set off at approximately 12:00.

The parade route is: Senate Square – Snellmaninkatu – Aleksanterinkatu – Mannerheimintie – Eteläesplanadi – Kasarmikatu – Neitsytpolku – Kaivopuisto.

The end time of the parade is around 15 pm. 

The most significant traffic impacts is felt particularly at Senate Square, Mannerheimintie, and along the Esplanade towards Kaivopuisto. 

People heading to the South Harbour or Katajanokka harbour are advised to approach via Sörnäinen and Pohjoisranta.

"The police will direct traffic during the parade and will also ensure general order and safety during the park festival," says Superintendent Hanna Kiiskinen.

The public events of Pride Week and the Saturday parade are organised by Helsinki Pride Community ry. The organiser has made the traffic arrangements related to the event in agreement with the City of Helsinki and the Helsinki Police Department.
