The police is prepared for demonstrations in Kittilä this week

Fennoscandian Exploration and Mining conference (FEM), will be held on 31 October – 2 November 2023 in Kittilä, Levi. Event is international and many of the participants are from abroad.

The mining industry and related environmental problems have recently mobilized protesters.

The police has not been notified of the protests but based on social media demonstrations will be organized in connection with the event.

The police is prepared to secure both the arrangements of the  event and the peaceful flow of the demonstrations.
