The District Prosecutor and the National Police Board have raised a claim on 6 September 2019 in the District Court of Eastern Uusimaa (Itä-Uudenmaan käräjäoikeus) to abolish the United Brotherhood and its subsidiary Bad Union. At this stage, there is no information about the schedule of the process.

In case law, United Brotherhood has been classified as an organised crime group and verdicts show that the group has been involved in numerous serious crimes in past years. Bad Union contributes to the criminal actions of United Brotherhood. The purpose of the raised claim is to abolish the operations of the aforementioned associations.

Never before in Finland have claims been raised to abolish similar criminal groups. The Turku court of appeal decided in September 2018 to abolish the Nordic Resistance Movement and Pohjoinen perinne ry (Nordic Tradition r.a) due to them being contrary to law and good manner. The case is currently being processed in the Supreme Court of Finland. This raised claim is a new form of administrative crime combating which in accordance with the strategy of combating organised crime strives to efficiently intervene with organised criminal action and its side effects in Finland.

Due to the matter being in progress, there will be no more information on the matter at this point.
