From the police point of view, the security arrangements of the working visit proceeded as planned. The prolonging of the press conference held at Hotel Punkaharju and its effects on transfers and the passage of citizens posed challenges.
Deputy Police Chief Seppo Korhonen thanks the residents of and visitors to Savonlinna for their patience and tolerant attitude towards the inconvenience caused by the security arrangements required by the working visit.
According to Korhonen, citizens have been patient and shown understanding of the changes in timetables.
In terms of police operations, central Savonlinna has been exceptionally calm, considering the time of year, the opera festival, the working visit of heads of state and the considerable number of members of the public on the move.
