Eastern Uusimaa Police Department, units and services

We provide police services in 15 municipalities in Eastern and Central Uusimaa. Our area of operation extends from Vantaa to Hyvinkää and from Nurmijärvi to Loviisa. There are more than 550,000 inhabitants in Eastern Uusimaa. For more information on our services and opening hours, see the details of individual police stations.

    Prefer online services.

    Read the instructions first before applying for a passport, identity card or other permit, or submitting a crime report.

    Book an appointment beforehand, if possible.

    For information about pending cases, contact the police department that is processing your case. You can request records and copies by contacting the police department or station.

    The cost for a call to the Police is

    • the local network charge (pvm) if you call using a landline number
    • cellular phone charge (mpm) if you use a mobile phone
    • international call charge if you call from abroad.

    You will pay for the call in line with your operator tariff. Waiting time is also paid for.

Hyvinkää police station

  • Description
    Hyvinkää police station is located near the city center, just a walking distance away from the railway station. At the license service office you can apply for passports, identity cards, security sector licenses. Please notice, that in this office we do not handle firearm matters.

    Our customer service is at Mannilantie 28. You can find the entrance at Helsingintie side of the building. Service point is at 3rd floor. We provide license services (passports, identity cards, security licenses, weapons permits and other licenses).

  • Description
    License services are provided only by appointment on Wednesdays in passport and id-card matters. Please note that the service point is closed between 11.30-12.30.

Inspection of firearms take place only by appointment on Tuesdays. in the Police House on the first floor. On inspection days firearms will not be received and cannot be handed over. For theese matters contact aseluvat.ita-uusimaa@poliisi.fi. In Vantaa inspection of firearms take place on Mondays.

Vantaa Main Police Station (Rahtitie)

    Licence services office (passports, identity cards) at Vantaa main police station are located in Tikkurila, next to the railwaystation and shopping centre Dixi. Vi provide service mainly by appointment calling by name. If you do not have an appointment, please be prepared to queue. All our services and opening hours can be found below.

    Inspection of firearms are carried out only by appointment, in Vantaa on Mondays and in Porvoo on Tuesdays. On inspection day firearms cannot be handed over. Licence services (passports or identity cards) are located in Tikkurila, address Ratatie 11 C.
