Eastern Uusimaa Police Department, units and services

We provide police services in 15 municipalities in Eastern and Central Uusimaa. Our area of operation extends from Vantaa to Hyvinkää and from Nurmijärvi to Loviisa. There are more than 550,000 inhabitants in Eastern Uusimaa. For more information on our services and opening hours, see the details of individual police stations.

  • In emergencies, always dial 112.

    Prefer online services.

    Read the instructions first before applying for a passport, identity card or other permit, or submitting a crime report.

    Book an appointment beforehand, if possible.

    For information about pending cases, contact the police department that is processing your case. You can request records and copies by contacting the police department or station.

    If you wish, you can send a message to the police via the Police Secure Mail service. Learn more about the use of Police Secure Mail at poliisi.fi/en/secure-mail.

    Police helpline

    The police helpline gives advice on non-urgent matters regarding licences, appointment bookings, e-services and traffic surveillance.

    Price of service

    The cost for a call to the Police is

    • the local network charge (pvm) if you call using a landline number
    • cellular phone charge (mpm) if you use a mobile phone
    • international call charge if you call from abroad.

    You will pay for the call in line with your operator tariff. Waiting time is also paid for.

Eastern Uusimaa servicepoint in Helsinki-Vantaa airport

Hyvinkää police station

  • Description
    Hyvinkää police station is located near the city center, just a walking distance away from the railway station. At the license service office you can apply for passports, identity cards, security sector licenses. Please notice, that in this office we do not handle firearm matters.

Kerava service point

  • Description
    License services are provided only by appointment on Wednesdays (possibly also on Thursdays) in passport and id-card matters. Please note that the service point is closed between 11.30-12.30.

    Lovisa police station is located in city center close to the bus station. On booked time on Thursdays you can apply for passports, identity cards and security sector licenses. We are closed between 11.15-12.30.

Inspection of firearms take place ONLY by appointment on Tuesdays. in the Police House on the first floor. On inspection days firearms will not be received and cannot be handed over. Vantaa Main Police Station

  • Description
    Vantaa main police station of Eastern Uusimaa Police Department is located in Jokiniemi next to National Bureau of Investigation. Here you can apply for passports, ID-cards, security field licenses, fire arms licenses and other licenses. We provide service mainly by appointment calling by name. If you do not have an appointment, please be prepared to queue. All our services and opening hours can be found below. We recommend customers to come to Vantaa main police station in Jokineimi with public transport. There are only a few customer parking places in front of the main police station. In Tikkurila center there are chargeable parking possibilities. You can walk in 10 minutes from Tikkurila railway station to the main police station.

    Vantaa main police station of Eastern Uusimaa Police Department is located in Jokiniemi next to National Bureau of Investigation. Inspection of firearms are carried out only by appointment, in Vantaa on Mondays and in Porvoo on Tuesdays. On inspection day firearms cannot be handed over or returned.
