24.9.2024 | The police will carry out an intensified elk and deer hunting control operation during 30 September – 27 October. The operation will be carried out when the elk hunting season is already underway and hunting clubs are at their most active. The operation will be carried out in cooperation with other wilderness supervisory authorities responsible for hunting and fishing matters, i.e. the Finnish Border Guard, Customs and Metsähallitus.

11.11.2024 | The police carried out an intensified nationwide elk and deer hunting control operation on 30 September – 27 October 2024. Hunters generally complied well with the rules, but some irregularities were detected. The most common hunting offence was transporting a firearm in a car in a prohibited manner.

30.8.2024 | Together with other authorities, the police carried out an intensive monitoring operation of waterfowl hunting at the start of the season on 20–25 August 2024. The police spent more than 600 working hours, or around 90 full-time equivalents, during the period concerned.
