Timo Vuola to continue as Police Chief for Central Finland

The National Police Board has appointed Timo Vuola,, Master of Laws, Police Chief for Central Finland from 1 April 2021. The position will be filled for a fixed period of five years. Eight persons submitted applications for the position of Police Chief for Central Finland.

Vuola has served as the Police Chief of Central Finland police department from April 2016. Vuola has diverse and broad experience of executive duties in police administration. He has more than 20 years’ experience of Police Chief duties in various units of the police. Moreover, Vuola’s previous positions include that of Deputy Police Chief and Director of Emergency Responce Centre Agency.
 
The Police Chief is the head of the police department, in charge of its operations and the effectiveness, results and development of operations.

The Police Chief is responsible for leading the police department in line with the confirmed goals for the police administration, for management of financial resources and human resources. The Chief confirms the police department’s operational policies and operational focus areas and is responsible for the police department’s readiness and preparation, the police department’s work with stakeholders and cooperation as well as effective communications.
