4.6.2025 | A long-planned large-scale operation targeting the top leaders and middle management of an Albanian-led criminal network was carried out in Albania on the third of June 2025. Thus far, a total of 55 persons have been convicted in different court instances and almost 300 kilos of drugs seized in the case concerned in Finland.

28.3.2023 | The Central Finland Police Department and the National Bureau of Investigation have investigated suspected aggravated narcotics offences involving drug smuggling and distribution from the Netherlands to Finland. It is suspected that several dozen kilos of drugs were smuggled into Finland last year by a criminal organisation.

30.6.2025 | In the future, the Police Museum will keep the historical artefacts of the Finnish Security and Intelligence Service (Supo). The items transferred to the museum collections include objects such as a secret mailbox from the 1950s related to espionage and bottles found at sea in the 1970s, intended for the smuggling of prohibited material.

The criminal activity began to be exposed during the international FBI-led Operation Greenlight. The police believe that the case has links to a number of other drug investigations in Finland.
