The police carried out a nationwide blasting site control campaign from 5 to 11 September 2022, during which a total of 253 sites were inspected in the operating areas of various police departments. A total of 22 admonitions and one notification leading to measures were issued. One penal order was issued for the violation of regulations on the transportation of explosives.

The figures in 2021 were 38 admonitions and seven notifications leading to measures.
The inspections were carried out together with the regional state administrative agencies. The police spent almost 900 working hours carrying out the inspections.

Goal is to ensure safety

Based on a risk analysis, the purpose of the campaign week was to inspect blasting sites and to pay partic-ular attention to the safe storage and use of explosives there. At the same time, the police inspected the blasters’ charger’s certificates.

Another goal of the controls was to have discussions with the actors and to intervene as effectively as possible in any irregularities detected.

The inspections were mainly targeted at sites that had notified the police about blasting work. A total of 253 sites were inspected in the operating areas of various police departments.

The inspections taking place at blasting sites in population areas focused on compliance with regulations. Site safety plans, blasting plans and, if necessary ,site plans were checked during the visits, when the charger’s certificates and their validity were also verified.
