Renovation of the customer service premises at Espoo Main Police Station has now completed and the doors will open to customers on Tuesday 2 May. The move to the customer service premises will partly affect customer services at Espoo Main Police Station on 25 April and on 27-28 April.

How to get to the customer service premises at the main police station

From 2 May onwards, Western Uusimaa Police will provide customers with permit services (passports, ID cards, firearm permit applications, security sector permits and alien affairs for which the police are responsible) as well as police services (crime reports and lost property) at Nihtisillankuja 4. For customers presenting firearms, the address is the same but the entrance is to the left when viewed from the main door.

Customers arriving through the main door will enter through a security check, which will be brought into use in May. After the security check, customers will proceed to the customer waiting area, where there is a self-service registration machine for customers of permit services and police services arriving without an appointment. If they wish, permit services customers can get their own queuing number by QR code to their phone. When the customer’s own turn comes, digital display boards show the number of the room where the service is provided. Permit services customers arriving with an appointment do not need to register or take a queueing number because they will be called by name to numbered service rooms. Permit services customers should note that there is no longer a photo booth on the premises where they can take passport photos for example.

Persons coming to the main police station for matters related to criminal investigations report to the Info point in the security check area. Having obtained a queuing number from Info, they will then proceed to the customer waiting area to wait their turn. Digital displays will direct customers to the right room when their turn comes. Likewise, lost property customers report to the Info point in the security check area.

Customer parking at the main police station is in the police station yard. Plenty of free parking space has been provided for customers. The main police station is also easily reached by public transport.

Move to new premises will close permit and police services at the main police station for two days and also affect presentation of firearms and the provision of alien affairs services for which the police are responsible

The move means that the presentation of firearms, which takes place at the main police station by appointment on Tuesdays, cannot take place on Tuesday 25 April. Customers will be able to present firearms normally again at the new premises on Tuesday 2 May.

The move to the renovated premises will close permit services at the main police station for two days in the last week of April, which means permit services will not be available at the station on 27-28 April. Permit services at the police stations in Lohja and Raasepori will be open as normal on both these days and permit matters can be dealt with on Thursday 27 April in Kirkkonummi. Police online services work every day of the week and can be used to initiate permit matters when the main police station is closed. Permit matters can also be dealt with at other police departments.
The move will also close police services (info, crime reports and lost property) at the main police station for two days. These services, too, will be closed on 27-28 April. During these two days, crime reports can be made online or in person in Western Uusimaa at Lohja, Kirkkonummi and Raasepori police stations.

Efforts will be made to deal with alien affairs for which the police are responsible, such receiving applications for asylum or international protection, on 27-28 April, but there may be delays in customer service. Applications can be submitted at Western Uusimaa Police Department police stations in Lohja and Raasepori or at police stations of other police departments.

On Monday 1 May, customer service at all the department’s police stations will be closed because of the May Day public holiday.
