The Helsinki Pride parade will significantly impact traffic in the Helsinki city centre Saturday for several hours. All other traffic will be rerouted from the parade route.

The Helsinki Pride parade will take place on Saturday 2 July 2022. Participants will gather on the Senate Square by 10 am and the parade will start moving at 12 noon.

The parade route is Senate Square – Aleksanterinkatu – Mannerheimintie – Eteläesplanadi – Unioninkatu – Eteläinen makasiinikatu – Kasarmikatu – Neitsytpolku – Kaivopuisto.

All other traffic will be rerouted from the parade route. The parade is estimated to reach its destination at around 2 pm.

The parade will impact traffic especially near the Senate Square, on Mannerheimintie, and on the roads from Esplanadi to Kaivopuisto. Those headed for South Harbour or the Katajanokka Harbour are advised to drive via Sörnäinen and Pohjoisranta.

‘The police will ensure safety during the parade and at the event. In previous years, there have been up to 100,000 participants. Those planning on driving in the city on Saturday should plan their route in advance to make sure they reach their destination in time,’ says Superintendent Jari Taponen.

All Pride Week events and the parade on Saturday are organised by Pride yhteisö Ry. The organiser has made traffic arrangements related to the event in collaboration with the City of Helsinki and the Helsinki Police Department.

Updates on the event will be posted on the Helsinki Police Department’s Twitter account @HelsinkiPoliisi. You can browse the Twitter posts without logging in to the service at
