Right to use as a reference

The police may not be used automatically as a reference. The National Police Board and other police units may allow, without separate written permission, directly in a procurement contract or other agreement, a contractual partner to use the contract as a reference in tenders organised by a public sector contracting entity of an EU or EEA country. The permission written into the contract requires that it applies solely to public information. Other reference use is allowed only with the written permission of the National Police Board or police unit in each specific case. Requests for the use of references should be directed to the relevant police unit which, as contracting party, is responsible for managing the contract referred to in the reference request.  

Permission before marketing at all times

Use of the name, ID or emblem of the police or police units for marketing purposes is prohibited without the written permission of the National Police Board. Nor may material made for the police be used for marketing purposes. Applications for permission should be addressed to the National Police Board at hankintatoimi.materiaalihallinto.poliisihallitus@poliisi.fi.
