9.12.2025 | The Police Museum will be closed from 15 December 2025 to 19 January 2026. We will open our doors again on Tuesday 20 January 2026. During the break, you can explore our virtual museum and online exhibitions.

19.1.2026 | The highlights of the year were the special exhibition on Art Crime Cases and the In Memoriam online exhibition, which opened in the autumn. The museum also hosted several events.

25.9.2025 | An exhibition opening in the new gallery facility of the Police Museum describes art crime through 14 criminal cases. Forged artwork of works by Reidar Särestöniemi, Helene Schjerfbeck, Pablo Picasso and others will be on display in the exhibition from October 1.

4.12.2025 | The Police Museum's new online exhibition “In Memoriam – Police killed in the line of duty” examines the history of police fatalities. The exhibition reveals for example the most dangerous types of assignments for police officers and how the work community responded to these events in different periods.

10.12.2024 | The Police Museum will be closed from 16 December 2024 to 10 January 2025. The doors will be opened again on Saturday, 11 January 2025. During the break, you are welcome to explore our virtual museum and online exhibitions.

7.1.2025 | One important factor behind the popularity was the Marias and Mörkös special exhibition, which opened in spring 2024 and features, among other things, the world’s fastest police motorcycle and police cars from various decades.

15.5.2024 | The Police Museum was established in May 2004 in conjunction with the then National Police School in Tampere. The museum celebrates its 20th anniversary in many different ways. This includes memories posted on social media and various events.

18.4.2024 | The Police Museum’s opening hours will be prolonged from Tuesday, 30 April 2024. From the end of April, the museum is open until 4 p.m. from Tuesday to Friday.

23.9.2024 | The Police Museum will arrange a free guided tour for the public on Tuesday, 29 October at 5:30 p.m.

25.4.2024 | In the special exhibition “Marias and Mörkös”, vehicles on display include the world’s fastest police motorcycle and police cars from various decades.

7.12.2023 | The Police Museum will be closed from 18 December 2023 to 15 January 2024. The doors will be opened again on Tuesday, 16 January 2024. During the break, you are welcome to explore our virtual museum and online exhibitions.

15.3.2024 | The new special exhibition Marias and Mörkös – Police Vehicles On and Off the Road, opens for the general public on 26 April 2024. Due to finishing work required for the exhibition, the museum is closed on 22–25 April.

15.1.2024 | The special exhibition “The Coloured Truth – Art Crime in Finland” that closed in December 2023 attracted an all-time record number or visitors to the Police Museum. The next temporary exhibition will open in spring 2024.

15.6.2023 | The Crime Museum, situated on the premises of the National Bureau of Investigation in Vantaa, has been part of the Police Museum since 2019. The Crime Museum’s exhibition will now be renewed. The exhibition is not open to the general public, but some exhibits of the Crime Museum are on display at the Police Museum in Tampere.
