The summer months clearly stand out in terms of the number of police assignments, with the total number of assignments in the summer being higher than average. On average, the monthly number of police assignments is about 53,000 while in the summer months, in other words from June to August, it is about 58,000 to 62,000. Compared to the average number from October to May, which is about 50,000 assignments per month, there are about 20 per cent more assignments per month in the summer months.

During the summer of 2025, the police have received several cases for investigation, in which a child who has gone into water has been in danger of death or died in the water. The police emphasise that it is the parents’ responsibility to take care of their children. Small children and especially children who cannot swim must be looked after constantly, and water safety equipment in accordance with the law must be provided, such as life jackets when boating.
