The visit of the Estonian presidential couple will cause disruptions to traffic in Helsinki

President of the Republic of Estonia Alar Karis, accompanied by his spouse Sirje Karis, will pay a state visit to Finland on 28–29 April 2026. The visit will be hosted by President of the Republic of Finland Alexander Stubb and his spouse Suzanne Innes-Stubb.

The police are responsible for the safety and security of the events and the related traffic arrangements.

President Stubb and Mrs Innes-Stubb will receive the Estonian presidential couple at an official welcome ceremony on Tuesday 28 April in front of the Presidential Palace in Helsinki. The public will be able to follow the ceremony from the Market Square at around 10.00.

Traffic in front of the Presidential Palace will be stopped during the ceremony. The disruption will last about one hour, starting at around 09:30.

The events of the visit may require temporary traffic arrangements and short traffic delays, mostly in the Helsinki city centre. The police will ensure the safety of the events and direct traffic if necessary.
